At Mount of Olives Foundation, our mission is to provide essential assistance and support to families facing the challenges incurred by the cost of living crisis and the rise of domestic abuse. Based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community by offering comprehensive resources, emotional support, and practical help to those in need.

The cost of living crisis in Australia has placed immense financial pressure on families, with many struggling to afford basic necessities such as housing, food, and utilities. According to the Salvation Army, the cost of living has significantly increased, affecting a large portion of the population (source).

Additionally, in Australia we are seeing a dramatic rise in domestic abuse which leaves many families and children with nowhere to go and in need of emergency accomodation, and although there are numerous help-lines for the families affected, we have identified a significant gap in proactive initiatives to give real help where it's needed.    A survey of frontline domestic violence services by Monash University revealed an increase in both the frequency and severity of domestic violence incidents (source).

Our goal at Mount of Olives Foundation is to empower these families by providing the support they need to overcome their challenges and build a brighter future.

What We Do

• Domestic abuse information: Our team of trained professionals with first-hand experience in the Australian court system surrounding DV offer a safe and confidential environment where individuals can find the information they need to navigate what to do next, to heal and rebuild their lives.
• Real help now: We provide groceries now for mums and dads that are fleeing DV situations and need more than just advice. We devlier the essentials for you and your family at your time of need.
• Emergency Shelter and Housing Assistance: For families fleeing domestic abuse, we offer emergency shelter and assistance in finding safe, long-term housing solutions. We work closely with local housing providers to ensure that families have a secure place to stay while they rebuild their lives.

Why It Matters
